Reno downtempo outfit, Convulsions, has partnered up with Chugcore to premiere their entire Imminence Records debut in full. The heavy-as-fuck EP, entitled Culture Shock, was released today, March 31, 2017, and features five filthy slabs of downtempo metal. Check it out in the player on this page.
The band will hit the road with labelmates Dreaming Awake for a quick West Coast tour beginning Thursday, April 6th. Find more dates in the poster below.
If Convulsions isn’t as boring to watch on stage as some of their peers are, expect big things from this band. If they are as boring, then expect nothing, because the world doesn’t need another band of preppy-looking guys with stretched earlobes jumping in synchronization.
Guitarist Jimmy Cooper commented on the EP:
The EP, to me, stands for how we view things around us and our personal experiences. This EP helped us as a band because it brought us closer and helped us understand a lot about each other. It became this bonding moment for us and I hope the audience, when they listen to it, feels a connection with it in their own way.
Culture Shock Track Listing:
1. Intolerance
2. Product Of The Lost (feat. Davis Rider)
3. Dilemma
4. Scum Staunch (feat. Jordan LeGore)
5. Culture Shock
The EP is available for purchase on iTunes, Google Play, and Bandcamp.
About Convulsions:
You don’t create filthy raw music. You are born into it, molded by it just like the five members of Reno, NV’s Convulsions. While the band was recently formed, these five individuals – Junior Martinez (Guitar), Draven Carter (Drums), Noah Tagliamonte (Bass), Tyler Pfeifer (Vocals), and Jimmy Cooper (Lead Guitar) – have brought forth the heaviest, darkest, noisiest, and rawest downtempo the music world has experienced yet. While only being a full band since October 2016, the band already has a full EP produced by KING drummer Cameron Marygold and a label home in the form of Imminence Records. Their label debut will be released this spring with influences ranging from Immoralist, Traitors, and KING.
