Black Rose, Playing On ‘80s-Era Cold War Tropes — And We Like!

Low-budget international-type action movies seem to be alive-and-well in light of the upcoming release of the Alexander Nevsky-directed Black Rose. And considering it looks like today’s political climate is leading up to another Cold War between the U.S. and Russia, it’s only fitting that Black Rose involves a Russian cop coming to Los Angeles. Here, get caught up with the synopsis and the trailer.

Black Rose Synopsis:

A Russian Police Major (Alexander Nevsky) is enlisted by the LAPD to help solve a series of gruesome murders perpetrated against young women by a sadistic sociopathic killer on the mean streets of Hollywood.

Written by Brent Huff and George Saunders, Black Rose stars Alexander Nevsky (Maximum Impact, Showdown in Manila, Moscow Heat, Undisputed, Treasure Raiders), Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Bounty Killer), Adrian Paul, Robert Davi, and Matthias Hues.

Black Rose will hit theaters on April 28th, and VOD on May 2nd.
