UFC 210: Anthony “Rumble” Johnson Retires From MMA [VIDEO]

UFC 210 is now in the books. Following an entertaining event last night, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson shocked the world in the Joe Rogan post-fight interview with a random announcement that no one was expecting, not even his dominant opponent Daniel Cormier.

After a second attempt at achieving champion status, Johnson said it was his last fight in the UFC, who lost via rear-naked choke at 3:37 of the second round at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center.

Johnson said,

I don’t have any excuses, I lost again to the better man. This is my last fight, I didn’t want any distractions, but I want to thank you all for being with me.

Apparently, Johnson, 33, has been contemplating retirement for a while, which allowed him to concentrate on other lucrative opportunities outside of MMA. However, many others still believe Johnson will return for a potential superfight at heavyweight in the future.

Cormier who successfully defended the light heavyweight belt for the second time said the following about his retired foe in the UFC 210 post-fight presser.

I hope he is not walking away from this sport. He has so much to offer the sport of mixed martial arts.
