by On the heels of the video game launch to coincide with the film Kill Switch comes the trailer, the ultra VOD release (May 19th), and in theaters and On Demand on June 16th.
Judging from the trailer, Kill Switch has all the hallmarks to become a sci-fi cult classic. For some reason, it makes me think of Dark City (1998) or Blade Runner (1982), but not in terms of theme or aesthetics, but more in terms of the intangible, such as the way it will make you feel after watching.
Kill Switch Synopsis:
Set in a future version of the world, the video-game-style plot follows an experiment for unlimited energy, harnessing parallel universes, which goes wrong. Chased by drones and soldiers, pilot and physicist Will Porter must race through an imploding world to get the Redivider box to a tower, which will save humanity, including his family, in the real world.
Kill Switch is the VFX-heavy feature debut from writer/director Tim Smit.
