George A. Romero, one horror’s most prolific and beloved director passed away last week. Fans and friends were shocked by his passing and many paid tribute by catching up on his work over the past few decades.
This week the annual Fantasia Film Festival and Arrow Video is also showing respect to Romero with a free 4K screening of one of his under-seen 1973 masterpiece, The Crazies. That’s right! This Friday at the Salle J.A. De Sève theater in Montreal, The Crazies 4K screening will take place at 9:30PM on the big screen.
This will be the first public showing of Arrow’s recently-completed restoration, slated to be released later this year as part of a home video box set titled “George Romero Between Night and Dawn”, also featuring new restorations of SEASON OF THE WITCH and THERE’S ALWAYS VANILLA.
Make sure to be there early because seats will obviously be limited. For much more details and information, please visit the Fantasia 2017 official website.
