Guillermo del Toro’s sequel to Pacific Rim has been talked about ever since it was first announced in 2014. Now, fans of the monster film will need to wait a little longer for Pacific Rim: Uprising, as Legendary and Universal Pictures has pushed back the official release date. So all the talk and speculations on Jaegers and Kaiju’s will continue.
According to multiple online sources, Pacific Rim: Uprising is being bumped by another month. Pushing back the sequel to March 23rd, 2018. Previously the film was scheduled for a release on February 28th.
It has been ten years since The Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes when the Kaiju threat returns.
At the moment, a trailer has not debuted yet, but a short teaser for Uprising was unveiled last month during the San Diego Comic-Con, which featured a recruiting video for Yaeger pilots.
Uprising was directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Netflix’s Daredevil) from a screenplay by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World). Stay tuned to Yell! Magazine for much more daily news.
