Paulie Malignaggi Wants To Fight Conor McGregor In A Winner-Take-All Bout

Paulie Malignaggi

As many of you know the rivalry between Conor McGregor and Paulie Malignaggi is not entirely over. In fact, Malignaggi is seeking revenge for releasing a set of leaked pictures before the MayMac crossover fight last month, which favored McGregor over the former WBA welterweight champion.

Malignaggi, 36, retired and resting in a big wad of cash now knows a bout with McGregor could be another massive payout for him. So every effort to get him inside the four-cornered ring again is a smart move for Malignaggi. In fact, the pro boxer with 36 wins under his name has an interesting offer on the table for McGregor, a winner-take all bout.

Malignaggi mentioned on The MMA Hour on Monday that he is ready to risk fighting for free just to have another opportunity to punch McGregor in the mouth over the course of a fight.

I’m willing to risk fighting him for free just to punch him in the mouth again, again and again. That’s how confident I am he can’t beat me. I’d make it winner take all just for the pleasure of putting my fist in his teeth again.

The retired pro boxer is so confident in defeating McGregor under the Marquess of Queensberry rules that he is open to give up at least a portion of his fight purse if he doesn’t stop the Irish sensation in under 12-rounds.

Conor gets stopped by me. If Conor doesn’t get stopped by me, I should get penalized at least a portion of my purse if I don’t stop this guy. After a few rounds, the problem is Conor has no backup plan. This might just be that he hasn’t boxed for a long time. That’s not so many layers to him. The layers has has are just the ones you see.

He added,

I think once you get the hang of it, once you get the hang of what Conor is doing, you start to break him. And as I’ve said from the start, this guy is not the bravest guy in the world. There’s a lot of punk in this guy. He’s a loud guy, he’s a brash guy. Honestly, in MMA he has the advantage most of the time, because he is talented. You have to give him that, he is talented. But a fighter is a fighter when faced with adversity. Not in round one, not when he’s talking at a press conference.

At the moment, McGregor promised to return to MMA, but if an offer is interesting enough for another boxing bout, then there’s a high chance will see him put on 8-once or more gloves on again.
