It appears like Nate Diaz is in the running for Conor McGregor’s next match inside the Octagon. It’s a fight both McGregor’s team and the UFC want, and most of all the MMA fans are eager to see the trilogy go down before the end of the year.
Following McGregor’s loss to Floyd Mayweather in the 10th round last month by TKO, many fighters showed respect toward the Irishmen, but Diaz expressed opposite thoughts about his long-time rival. Although the Stockton bad boy did defend McGregor’s skills at one point prior to the MayMac boxing bout, Diaz still feels McGregor could have performed much better. Meaning his cardio did not improve a lot since their last two fights.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday Diaz wrote,
He punched himself out the same way he lost in the Ufc there was no learning goin on.. #overpromotion bullshit get off the nuts this the shit I’m talking about Bruce Lee would’ve never lost like that. #realninjashit
At the moment, McGregor doors are truly open in the UFC. There’s potential match ups against Tony Ferguson, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Justin Gaethje. But the one that sticks out the most is the trilogy with Diaz, which is obviously the one guaranteed to pull in the biggest numbers again. The UFC may be targeting McGregor vs. Diaz 3 for December.
