Watching this video (the fourth and final installment Revolver’s “The Art of Work”), I realized that I’d never actually watched or listened to any interviews or dialogue from the Tool frontman (also Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, etc.), Maynard James Keenan. What I learned watching this is that Keenan is extremely Zen-like. And the way he speaks, well, his tone and intellect leave little doubt that, with a subtle whisper of suggestion, the rocker, vineyard entrepreneur, and the Verde Valley Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy co-founder couldn’t get us all to drink the Kool-Aid.
All joking aside, if you’d like to learn about how Jiu-Jitsu changed Keenan’s life and how he has been able to apply the martial art’s teachings to his life and work, and how it all relates to his larger vision of sustainable living and creativity, then you definitely need to check out the video. After watching this final installment, you might find yourself wanting to see the previous three, which are residing here.
