Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping will be back in action sooner than later. Following news that Anderson Silva was removed from UFC Shanghai due to a failed drug test, Bisping is potentially stepping in to face Kelvin Gastelum.
That’s right! A week after coming of a title loss to Canadian great Georges St-Pierre, Bisping is getting right back on the horse. He is expected to face Gastelum in the main event of UFC Shanghai, the promotions first fight card on Mainland China.
Silva and The Ultimate Fighter: Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen middleweight winner Gastelum was initially scheduled to serve as the main event. However, it was revealed on November 10th that Silva had failed an out of competition drug test administered by USADA on October 26th and as a result had been pulled from the card.
At the very moment, the UFC hasn’t made an official announcement yet, but will drop the news sometime this week.
