Those of you who are looking forward to Robert Rodriguez’s next film will be thrilled to know the official trailer for Alita: Battle Angel has arrived.
Based entirely on the manga series Battle Angel Alita (aka Gunnm) by Yukito Kishiro, Alita: Battle Angel takes place in a future where cyborgs rome the earth. Featuring Rosa Salazar as Alita, a groundbreaking new heroine who awakens with no memory after being discovered in a scrapyard by a cyber-doctor.
Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita (Rosa Salazar) is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita awakens she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in. Everything is new to Alita, every experience a first. As she learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield Alita from her mysterious past while her street-smart new friend, Hugo (Keean Johnson), offers instead to help trigger her memories.
Alita: Battle Angel also stars Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, Keean Johnson, and Casper Van Dien. The film was written by Rodriguez, James Cameron, and Laeta Kalogridis.
20th Century Fox will release the film in theaters on July 20th, 2018.
