Gears Praise Inner Strength On “King”

Fans of bands like Sevendust and even Killswitch Engage, take note; there’s a new heavy metal band for you to sink your teeth into. Check out Gears and their new song/video for “King,” which comes from the band’s upcoming EP.

The video showcases some MMA fighting, which is, I think, used as a metaphor for inner strength and coming out on top.

Drummer Jimmy Wooten commented:

Society has become so soft and forgiving, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes you can’t just live and let live. Sometimes you have to confront those that stand between you and what you want to achieve. It’s not always pretty, and it’s not always peaceful, but not everything can be resolved using our inside voices.

You know, I couldn’t agree more. We live in a world in which the PC pendulum has gone too far and it needs to swing back toward the middle.
