The Melvins have released the video for the track “Embrace the Rub,” which can be found on the band’s forthcoming (April 20th) album, Pinkus Abortion Technician. Judging from the YouTube comments, it seems there is a mixture of reactions to the track, some of which aren’t too favorable. Check the Mackie Osborne-directed video on this page and let us know what you think of the track in the comments section below.
Dale Crover commented about the track:
’Embrace the Rub’ is a Steven McDonald-penned punker-tune throwback to his days as a young Hawthorne, CA punk hanging out with Black Flag. For some reason, I decided that this tune really needed a piano part.
The eight-song album is the band’s first to feature two bass tracks on every song, with the bass players being Steve McDonald (Redd Kross, OFF!) and Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers).
Pinkus Abortion Technician pre-orders are available here, with digital pre-orders including an instant download of both “Stop Moving to Florida” and “Embrace the Rub.”
The band embarks on a 10-week North American tour on April 26th. The trek will feature the Melvins as a four-piece with both Pinkus and McDonald joining Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover.
