Ominous Eclipse Release “Sinister” Video

Ottawa has been named Canada’s boringest city on several lists (go ahead and Google it) through the years, which might explain how a heavy metal band has crafted and honed their brutal skill so well. Boredom has to be a monster motivator, and one can only imagine bored teens sitting in basements on blustery winter days listening to metal albums and developing their own musicianship.

So, we have Ottawa’s death metal outfit, Ominous Eclipse, who are an ambitious and passionate band describing themselves as a hybrid of styles with death metal taking center stage. The band has recently released the title track from their next full-length, Sinister. Check out the basement-shot video for “Sinister” on this page.

Active since 2014, Ominous Eclipse have released an EP, Beyond the Apocalypse, and an LP, End of Days, and will release their next full-length, Sinister, in 2018.

Starting off playing small local gigs in the Ottawa area, the band has been making waves on the local scene opening for names such as Revocation, The Agonist, Kalmah, Archspire, Incantation, Vesperia, plus Black Fast.

Ominous Eclipse play their next show tonight, on March 31st, supporting Beyond Creation at Maverick’s in Ottawa. See the very short list of show dates below.

The band commented on the album:

Sinister is a grim, bleak tale of the fate of our world constructed with a vast variety of metal subgenres and influences.

The single is available for download and stream on all major online retailers.
