It’s been a while since we shared any news on the upcoming Predator sequel, but today that’s all about to change. During this year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas, 20th Century Fox teased a bunch of films, including The Predator. By tease, we mean they only revealed the official synopsis of Shane Black’s highly-anticipated film.
Black who initially had a small role as an elite solider in the original Predator returns to helm the project, which will take place in a “small-town streets of suburbia.” The hunt between the lethal space hunter and a bunch of ex-solider will commence after a boy triggers a call to space.
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
The film’s cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski.
20th Century Fox will unleash The Predator in theaters on September 14th.
