James McAvoy And Bill Hader To Potentially Co-Star In IT Sequel

IT Sequel

The first chapter of the IT reboot is officially in the books, but now the second chapter is left to be told in 2019. Casting for the highly-anticipated sequel is underway and a few high-profile actors are in negotiations to play the adult portion of the Losers’ Club.

Back in February, Jessica Chastain was approached to play the adult version of Beverly Marsh in IT: Chapter Two. From what we still know, she is still on board to take on the role. Now two more actors have been targeted by the studio to face a bitter Pennywise.

James McAvoy is currently in early discussions to play an adult Bill Denbrough, who lost his brother Georgie to It on a rainy day during his childhood (seen at the very beginning of IT: Chapter One). In addition, Bill Hader is also in talks to play the wisecracking Richie Tozier.

Chapter Two is expected to take place 27 years after the events of Chapter One. The ancient evil entity resurfaces to feed on human flesh marinated by fear. Based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, the sequel will begin filming this summer in Toronto.

Andy Muschietti will helm the project once again while Gary Dauberman will pen the sceenplay for New Line Cinema’s IT: Chapter Two. The film is slated for a September 6th, 2019 release from Warner Bros.
