Two Brazilian MMA legends will potentially face each other in the very near future. The UFC is currently trying to book a fight between the “The Phenom” and “The Dragon.”
Those of you who have been looking forward to the matchup between Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida can now mark off May 12th. Both fighters are expected to headline UFC 224 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since Belfort and Machida are nearing the end of their MMA careers, the UFC believes it’s a fight MMA fans won’t want to miss in 2018.
Both Brazilians recently snapped a three-fight losing streak. Belfort is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Nate Marquardt at UFC 212, back in June 2017. And his upcoming opponent Machida is also coming off a unanimous decision win against Eryk Anders. So it makes perfect sense to book these two before they hit retirement.
At the moment, the UFC is still putting together a UFC 224 fight card and annoucements will be rolling out over the next few weeks.
