Last night on FOX, the UFC put on a hell of a good show that undoubtedly entertained everyone tuning in, including UFC president Dana White that only had good things to say during the post-fight conference, and I can also openly say that it must have been one of the best free MMA events ever put on network television.
If you missed it, don’t worry because you can still catch the fight highlights that went on between Machida vs. Bader, and Shogun vs. Vera right below which, also determined the number one contender slot that will face in a future fight the outcome between UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon “Bones” Jones, and Dan Henderson at UFC 151 on Saturday, September 1, 2012. Lyoto Machida hands down earned that slot last night based on his dominating performance, confirmed by White, and also earned the approval by the fans in a poll.
Although Brandon Vera lost to Shogun in the main event by the fourth round, who was considered the underdog, and least favorable out of the four fighters to get a title shot. Vera stole the show during the post-fight conference by expressing his heart, and determination during the fight against an extremely tough opponent. White is very pleased with him, and we can definitely expect him to step back inside the Octagon in the near future.
