The UFC 158 open workout took place yesterday at the Complexe Desjardin in Montreal, and one important figure that needed to be there to promote the main fight against Georges St-Pierre did another no show. UFC welterweight, Nick Diaz, skipped out on the public appearance on Wednesday. According to sources, Diaz felt the event was too early for him.
There is no official statement released yet explaining his reason, but if Diaz skips out on the pre-fight press conference today, consequences could be major for the No. 1 contender. Dana White has previously expressed his frustration with him, as he’s cost the company thousands of lost dollars in promotion already for the epic fight.
From the sound of things now, Diaz is currently in Montreal, well in time for UFC 158 on Saturday, but will he show up to the presser at 1:00 P.M ET? That will be determined later today.
Johny Hendricks, Carlos Condit, Jake Ellenberger, and Nate Marquardt are also expected to appear at the UFC 158 pre-fight conference at the Bell Centre. Stay tuned and bookmark this page to watch it LIVE.
