Floyd Mayweather Willing To Help Ronda Rousey In Boxing [VIDEO]

In the past, Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather may have been the biggest enemies on the planet, but it now appears like the former pound-for-pound boxing king is willing to put the feud aside and offer his support following Rousey’s bantamweight title loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 this weekend in Melbourne, Australia.

On Saturday night, it was the perfect storm for Holm, who came into the main event extremely well prepared against the former champion and showed the world her striking ability is far superior to Rousey’s. Days after witnessing her defeat, Mayweather has offered to help Rousey with her boxing skills.

Mayweather said,

I want Ronda Rousey to hold her head up high and don’t let this discourage you, if you need help as far as with boxing, I’m here to help you. It’s all about timing and inches. Her ground game is unbelievable. She’ll be okay.

In addition, Mayweather also said he is against an immediate rematch between Holm and Rousey.

Me as a former fighter, I think that she needs some time off to regroup and refocus, I think they’re rushing her. They need to build Ronda Rousey back up, her confidence back up, even though I think she’s probably still confident. Let Holly fight, defend the title a few times, and build it. That’s what I would do, looking at it as being a former fighter and now promoter. I wouldn’t rush it.

There’s no official word yet on what Rousey has planned next, but UFC President Dana White is expected to meet with her face to face next week to talk about something they scheduled before she lost the title to Holm.
