For those of you who completed both the main Resident Evil 7 story and the two released DLC’s to date so far are probably looking forward to the free DLC titled “Not a Hero.” It’s the next story chapter in RE7 where the player control Chris Redfield, which was initially targeted for a spring release, but that plan has been now changed.
Following a video announcement from Capcom, RE7 director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masachika Kawata revealed that “Not a Hero” has received a major delay. According to both heads, the quality of the upcoming DLC has not met the same quality standard as the main game. Therefore they need more development time to meet the desired goal for the fans.
Nakanishi and Kawata said in the video clip,
…in light of the incredible reception to the release of Resident Evil 7, we concluded that this DLC was not good enough to meet those high expectations
Our aim is for this content to match the high quality of the main game, so we need more development time to in order to achieve that goal.
In addition, RE7 executive producer Jun Takeuchi also appeared on screen revealing more DLC content is expected to come in the not too distant future.
We are also working on a further piece of DLC at the moment, and we wish to deliver both of these to you and up to the standard you expect from Resident Evil 7.
There’s no official release date attached yet, but we’ll make sure to keep Yellers updated, so stay tuned to Yell! Magazine.
