Amanda Nunes and Cris Cyborg are currently at the top of the food chain in their respective division. To determine the number one female fighter in 2018 both champions will need to face each other inside the Octagon.
MMA fans and even UFC president Dana White agree the fight needs to happen soon. However, Cyborg disagrees with them all. According to the 145-pound Brazilian dominator, she would rather defend her title against an opponent at featherweight. But Nunes believes the match should take priority over all other this year.
In a recent Twitter post, Nunes declared she is definitely interested in a superfight with Cyborg.
First of all, I have nothing personal against @criscyborg I do believe it is the fight that everyone wants to see and a fight where we can both leave our marks on this sport.
Both female fighters are coming off impressive wins. Cyborg defeated Holly Holm at UFC 219 in a fairly lopsided title fight. Nunes recorded her second consecutive title defense against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 215 via a split decision. Before that highly-anticipated rematch, Nunes took out former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in 48 seconds in Las Vegas.
