The fight game in B.J. Penn isn’t officially over just yet. The UFC Hall of Famer may have one last fight in him and it could take place in his home state of Hawaii.
Since Max Holloway is currently holding the featherweight title, chances for the UFC to hold an exciting event at Honolulu’s Alohoa Stadium is damn right realistic. If the UFC books a date in Hawaii soon, then Penn wants to be part of the historical event.
Penn told Honolulu television station KHON,
I wouldn’t go around talking to the UFC and asking them to get me a fight somewhere, but if something happened and the UFC came to Hawaii, I’m still young enough to do it. I don’t see how I can turn that particular fight down.
According to Penn, talks between the UFC and officials representing Aloha Stadium have already begun, so whether he is part of the fight card or not Penn will be present.
That would be unbelievable. You see all kinds of rumors and stuff and the last time I was in Vegas I saw the MMA commission from Hawaii and someone representing Aloha Stadium up there so it’s interesting. I would love to see something happen. It would mean everything. Like I said though, I’m not even fighting so maybe I just sit back and watch.
