It appears like B.J. Penn still has some fight left in him. The former two-division UFC champion has been booked to face a longtime rival, Nik Lentz.
That’s right! “The Prodigy” previously told Bjpenn.com that he would like to face Lentz at UFC 244 in New York, but UFC President Dana White then revealed that both of them would most likely face each other in Abu Dhabi on Sept. 7. An event which takes place earlier than UFC 244. According to White, nothing is officially announced yet.
Those of you following Penn’s MMA career will know that he has been on a losing streak since defeating Matt Hughes in November 2010. Penn recently faced Clay Guida at UFC 237 and lost via unanimous decision.
However, Lentz has won two of his last three fights, but was defeated by second-round TKO in a trilogy bout with Charles Oliveira in May 2019.
