UFC 219 was an exciting fight card mainly due to the main event between Cris Cyborg and Holly Holm. Although Holm failed to dethrone Cyborg last night, it was the Brazilian’s most competitive bout to date.
Besides that highly-anticipated clash for featherweight title, Khabib Nurmagomedov finally made his return inside the Octagon at lightweight. He faced Brazil’s Edson Barboza who did not prove to be on the same fighting level as Nurmagomedov. The Russian dominated all three rounds of the fight, taking Barboza down repeatedly and mauling him with ground and pound. Nurmagomedov eventually won the bout by unanimous decision. The win also earned him his first Performance of the Night bonus.
